What is RF?

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, also referred to as radiofrequency skin tightening. It represents a non-invasive approach to enhancing skin tightness. This method entails the application of energy waves to elevate the temperature within the deep dermal layer of the skin, prompting the stimulation of collagen production.

Collagen, the predominant protein within the body, serves as the structural foundation of the skin, imparting resilience and tautness to its surface. Much like the springs in a mattress.

With advancing age, the body's capacity to generate collagen diminishes, resulting in the onset of skin laxity and the formation of wrinkles. Typically, this decline in collagen production becomes noticeable around the ages of 35 to 40. Since its introduction in 2001, RF therapy has been harnessed as a strategic intervention to combat sagging skin and mitigate visible signs of aging.

What conditions does Microneedling treat?

Potenza RF Microneedling procedures offer a versatile solution for addressing various skin issues across both facial and bodily areas. This encompasses alleviating signs of aging and sun damage, such as fine lines and wrinkles and pigment. Potenza also targets concerns like acne scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin texture while also minimizing pore size. Predominantly targeted regions for treatment include the face, neck, décolletage, and chest. What distinguishes this treatment is its ability to cater to all skin types, on any part of the body, throughout the year, making it particularly appealing as a go-to service!

What can I expect and is there any downtime?

Most patients say the discomfort level for this treatment is minimal and very tolerable, but everyone’s discomfort threshold is different. Once numb, your skin may have “spicy” sensation and light pressure during treatment. Some patients may also experience small pinpoint bleeding during treatment, which is normal and expected during this service. 

It is likely to have areas with scabbing during the healing process that can leave the skin feeling like sandpaper. Patients can also expect to experience swelling, redness or irritation immediately after treatment. These symptoms generally clear up within two to three days after treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

During the consultation, the provider will recommend an appropriate treatment plan for you designed to help achieve your desired results. Typically the recommended series will start with 3 treatments to see the best results.
