Laser treatments are one of the most effective ways to treat small blood vessels. During vascular laser treatments, the laser energy is absorbed by the targeted blood vessels, creating a thermal injury that triggers the body's response to heal the vessel or break it down, eliminating the vessel. 

Small vessels can often be eliminated after a single treatment while larger, stubborn vessels may require multiple treatments. Treatments are quick and most patients report only mild discomfort. It is common to have some redness and mild swelling at the site and in some cases, temporary bruising may result.
